The IRS should issue guidance for employers and employees on how to deal with remote work arrangements, industry groups said, echoing a letter the American Institute of CPAs wrote to the agency last week.
Megan Killian, executive vice president of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, said guidance from the IRS on remote work would provide a lot of clarity, but the addition of provisions is more for taxpayers to be aware of, so she will be watching to see if the guidance creates “further complications.”
