IRS Small Business, Tax-Exempt Offices Get New Leadership

A pair of longtime IRS employees will take over the offices tasked with helping small businesses and tax-exempt organizations, the agency announced July 31.

Eric Hylton, a veteran of the Criminal Investigation division, will lead the agency’s Small Business and Self-Employed division. The SB/SE division handles more than 50 million self-employed taxpayers and businesses with assets under $10 million, according to the IRS.

Tamera Ripperda is the pick to head the Tax Exempt and Government Entities (TE/GE) division, which works on nonprofits, employee retirement plans, tribal governments, and tax-exempt bonds.
