Filing Season Kicks Off On Time
The tax-filing season had an on-time start Monday, but challenges still await the agency.
The lack of a delay for the filing season’s opening is an early positive start after the IRS experienced a difficult 2025. The agency saw a steep downsizing of its workforce, leadership exits, and government shutdown last year that could have lingering impacts on this year’s filing season.
