The IRS is suing to bar two women from owning or operating a tax preparation business, after the pair spent years filing returns that claimed $9.86 million in refunds, many of which were fraudulent.
Andrea Nadel owned and operated EZ Accounting & Tax Services LLC in Savannah, Georgia, and worked there with Estelle Nadel. The pair prepared and reviewed all 4,623 tax returns filed from 2012-14, according to the Aug. 23 complaint.
They claimed false deductions for charitable giving, inflated earned income tax credit claims, and fabricated false business losses, according to the complaint.
