IRS Top Lawyer Pick Vows Four Years From Work With Ex-Clients

President Joe Biden’s IRS chief counsel pick Marjorie Rollinson, who spent most of her career at accounting giant Ernst & Young LLP, has vowed to recuse herself for four years from work involving former clients.

Rollinson fielded questions for several hours at her Senate Finance confirmation hearing Thursday on topics from IRS implementation of last year’s tax-and-climate law to the agency’s whistleblower program. In addition to her time at EY, Rollinson previously served a five-year stint in the office she may soon lead.
