IRS, Treasury Call for Recommendations on Regulatory Plan

The IRS and Treasury Department want to hear from stakeholders about what regulatory issues the agencies should work on in the next year.

Notice 2026-23 seeks recommendations by May 29. Recommendations are for projects the agencies will spend time on from July 1 through June 30, 2027.

The Trump administration significantly downsized its priority guidance plan last year, focusing on deregulation and the implementation of the 2025 GOP tax-and-spending law. When choosing projects to be added to the new plan, Treasury and the IRS will also consider whether the guidance relates to those topics, the notice said.
