IRS, Treasury Seek Input on Projects With Focus on Deregulation

The IRS and Treasury Department are calling for recommendations on what guidance projects it should work on in 2025 that align with the Trump administration’s deregulatory initiative.

Notice 2025-19 released Friday said the IRS and Treasury Department will consider regulations as they relate to the executive order on the so-called Department of Government Efficiency effort to scale back on regulations. This includes reconsidering rules that exceed the agency’s scope of power, impose burdens on small businesses, and harm national interest.
