Israel Ministry to Consider Renewing Tax on Internet Purchases

Israel to look into proposal by Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce to renew value-added tax on online purchases, Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman said at conference in Jerusalem.

  • NOTE: Current rules exempt online purchases abroad of $75 or less
  • Liberman plans to introduce carbon tax when it becomes international standard
  • Finance Ministry in talks with Histadrut labor federation on “package deal”
  • Government plans to pass 2021-2022 budget in November
