Japan METI Seeks to Extend Wage Hike Tax Breaks to 2030: Sankei

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry looks to extend corporate tax breaks aimed at encouraging employers to raise wages to 2030, Sankei reports without attribution.

  • Tax breaks for hiking wages are set to expire when the current fiscal year ends in March
  • Also seeks additional incentives for companies to support employees raising children
  • Will include the measures when it submits its annual tax reform requests to the Finance Ministry at end-Aug.
