A New Jersey homeowner’s beach house doesn’t qualify for a lower valuation for property tax purposes under the New Jersey Freeze Act, a state appeals court held Monday, affirming the tax tribunal.
The New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division said the state’s tax court properly ruled that the law, which limits a municipality from increasing a property’s valuation for two years, specifies that the freeze only applies if a county board of taxation makes a final judgment determining the value of a property.
