Telecommunications company Liberty Global Inc. likely would be wasting its time if it moved to dismiss a government lawsuit for about $284 million in taxes and penalties, a Colorado judge indicated.
Judge R. Brooke Jackson was responding to competing filings concerning Liberty Global’s planned dismissal motion. Jackson said he had reviewed the law cited in the company’s letter to the court, as well as in the government’s response, and he would “very likely” deny the motion.
