The Kentucky General Assembly enacted, over the Governor’s veto, a law concerning consolidated local governments. The law includes authorizing a consolidated local government council to sub-classify property into land and improvements for purposes of levying the ad valorem tax within the area formerly comprising a city of the first class. The law takes effect 90 days after the legislative session ends. [H.B. 607, became law without signature 04/14/26]
