Rema Serafi has been named vice chair of tax at KPMG LLP, the first woman to hold the position, the firm said Wednesday.
Serafi, who succeeds Greg Engel, will also serve as a member of the management committee, according to KPMG. She previously served as national managing principal of tax and also led the economic and valuation services practice.
Her appointment overseeing a staff of 10,000 will be effective Nov. 15, and she will be succeeded by Kevin Jackson, KPMG said.
