Legal Marijuana Could Bring Up to $58M to New Hampshire

Taxing recreational pot sales in New Hampshire could generate nearly $58 million per year, according to a commission studying marijuana legalization in the state.

But that’s only if the legislature passes a bill in its next session to legalize, regulate, and tax the drug.

The legislature’s Commission to Study the Legalization, Regulation, and Taxation of Marijuana agreed on a draft report Oct. 22 that makes more than 50 recommendations on the structure of legalized pot sales—if sales if the drug are allowed— according to commission chairman Rep. Patrick Abrami (R).
