Lithuania Parliament Considers Bill for VAT Reduction on Catering, Food Takeaway Services Due to Coronavirus

The Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas) April 27 accepted for consideration Bill No. XIVP-1614, to reduce the VAT rate to 9 percent on catering and takeaway food services provided by restaurants, cafeterias, and similar catering establishments until Dec. 31, 2023, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The reduction would not apply to alcoholic beverages and services or parts of services relating to alcoholic beverages. The law would enter into force Jan. 1, 2023. [Lithuania, Parliament, 04/27/22]
