The Lithuanian government approved Wednesday a proposal to increase taxation of corporate incomes and to introduce taxes on non-life insurance premiums and non-alcoholic sweetened beverages.
The proposal aims to raise additional funds for defense and public services, the finance ministry said in a press release. The finance ministry estimates 278.8 million euro ($313.1 million) in additional tax revenue in 2026 and 551.9 million euro in 2027.
