Partnership Profits Excluded From Louisiana Wage Payment Law

Louisiana is clarifying its wage and hour law by explicitly excluding profits interest granted in partnerships from final wage payment requirements, under a law effective Aug. 1.

State law requires employers to pay terminated employees by the earlier of the next regular payday or within 15 days after the discharge date. Wages that must be paid include all compensation that has been earned and is due to employees at the time of separation.
