Louisiana Provides Exemption for Purchases of Antique Motor Vehicles

The Louisiana state legislature passed a law providing a sales and use tax exemption for purchases of antique motor vehicles meeting certain age, value, and non-commercial use criteria. The law also changes registration and licensing fees, including a $1,000 fee for certain qualifying vehicles. The exemption and fee changes apply to sales, registrations, or transfers of qualifying antique motor vehicles on or after July 1, and takes effect same day. [H.B. 520, 07/01/25]
