The Maine Governor signed a law increasing the basic standard deduction for single individuals and married persons filing separate returns. The basic standard deduction is increased to $15,000 from $12,000 for tax years beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2026. [L.D. 705, enacted 04/16/26]
