Chemical and manufacturing trade groups are asking GOP lawmakers to repeal an excise tax on certain chemical materials.
A 2021 law reinstated the Superfund excise tax on 42 chemicals, minerals, and metallic elements that had expired in 1995. The excise taxes aimed to help fund the cleanup of hazardous US sites.
