A Colorado marijuana dispensary that was denied Supreme Court review in June has renewed its request for the court to review their tax dispute.
Denver-based Standing Akimbo, LLC filed a new petition to the high court Wednesday. The dispute stems from tax code Section 280E, which bars businesses trafficking Schedule I or II controlled substances from tax breaks. Standing Akimbo is fighting an IRS summons investigating whether the company took advantage of the tax breaks.
