The Maryland Comptroller announced the expansion of Maryland Tax Connect, a new cloud-based tax administration platform that will replace the state’s legacy COBOL-based mainframe system. The portal currently serves business taxpayers and will expand to individual taxpayers beginning Sept. 1. The new system will provide real-time account balances, complete filing histories, electronic filing capabilities, payment functionality, and expanded self-service tools. To facilitate the transition, the Comptroller’s Office will temporarily suspend online tax processes for approximately two weeks in late August 2026 while migrating to the new platform. [Md.
