The Maryland Governor signed a law creating an income tax credit for individuals who hunt and harvest antlerless deer and donate the processed venison meat to certain 501(c)(3) organizations. The law allows a credit of up to $75 for butchering and processing expenses, with a maximum annual credit of $300 per individual. The law takes effect on July 1, and applies to tax years 2024 through 2028. The law sunsets June 30, 2029. [S.B. 440, enacted 05/16/24]
