Maserati, Crypto Spending Suggest Willful Tax Dodge, Judge Says

The federal government likely proved a couple can’t discharge more than $852,500 in tax liabilities following the husband’s bankruptcy because he had willfully sought to evade tax prior to his petition, a US magistrate judge said.

The US should be entitled to summary judgment against Andre and Monique Vaughn to collect their outstanding liabilities, which allegedly totaled more than $1.78 million as of December 2024, Chief Magistrate Judge Daryl F. Bloom of the US District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said.
