Miami Tax Preparer Sued for Fraudulent Deductions, ID Misuse

A Miami tax preparer should be barred from practice because his business claimed fraudulent deductions and credits to purposefully underreport tax on customers’ returns, the US said in a complaint Tuesday.

The US seeks a permanent injunction barring Aniel Saint-Hilaire from operating his business, AYS Financial Group Inc., and asked the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida to order that he disgorge his ill-gotten gains from AYS customers. Saint-Hilaire will likely continue to cause substantial tax losses to the US Treasury if the court doesn’t enjoin him, the IRS said.
