A Miami tax return preparer agreed to permanent injunctions and disgorgement of $390,000 in ill-gotten gains, the Justice Department announced Thursday.
The DOJ said that over the past 10 years, Richard Louis and independent contractors he worked with prepared thousands of returns for customers that claimed various false deductions and credits, including fabricated residential energy credits, false itemized deductions, and fictitious business expenses.
