Mississippi Extends Richland’s 2 Percent Sales Tax on Bars, Restaurants

The Mississippi Governor signed a law extending the City of Richland’s authority to impose a tax of up to 2 percent on the gross sales of bars and restaurants for funding tourism, parks, and recreation within the city. The law extends the city’s authority to levy this tax through July 1, 2030. [S.B. 2927, enacted 04/08/26]
