Missouri Justices Take Up Prohibition on Multiple Cannabis Taxes

A ruling forbidding multiple levels of local government from imposing cannabis taxes will be reviewed by the Missouri Supreme Court.

The Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District held that a county can impose the cannabis tax on dispensaries within unincorporated parts of the county, but only a municipality can impose the tax on dispensaries within incorporated parts of the county.

The high court announced Tuesday it will review that decision.
