New World Montessori School is saying it’s entitled to a refund from the IRS for about $195,400 for employee retention credits in various quarters in 2020 and 2021, according to a complaint filed in a Texas federal court Tuesday.
New World is seeking a federal tax refund plus interest because it qualifies for the statutory test of a decline in gross receipts in the specified quarters compared to 2019 under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act and Section 3134 of the IRC. The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
