A Supreme Court decision in a pivotal tax case on foreign earnings could lead to $271 billion in tax savings for some of the biggest companies in the country, a new report found.
A joint report Wednesday by left-leaning think tanks the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy and the Roosevelt Institute estimated 389 multinational corporations could see a total of $271 billion in tax savings if the Supreme Court rules to nix the repatriation tax included in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
