Most Britons would back a wealth tax according to a survey highlighting the depth of support for a policy Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves has already ruled out ahead of her budget next month.

Some 64% of adults would endorse the introduction of such a levy — which has been proposed by the Green Party — according to the Ipsos poll on Tuesday.
