N.Y.'s Hochul Unveils $25 Million Video Game Developer Tax Credit

New York digital game developers can now apply for a first-ever $25 million tax credit to help offset video game production costs, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) said on Friday.

Developers can begin applying for the New York State Digital Game Development Tax Credit Program, which will award up to $5 million per year over a five-year period. The tax program was included in the state’s fiscal 2022 budget to help foster the state’s digital game development industry.
