N.Y. Tax Fraud Suit Against Headhunter Stays in Federal Court

A whistleblower’s lawsuit alleging global headhunter Egon Zehnder knowingly underpaid New York taxes will continue in federal court after a judge refused to send the case back to state court.

The whistleblower’s attorney, Randall Matthew Fox of Kirby McInerney LLP, said they “look forward to proving” the claims in federal court. “The New York Legislature chose to expand the state’s resources by allowing whistleblowers to pursue such state tax fraud claims for the State, and that is what we are doing,” Fox said in an email Thursday.
