New Hampshire Takes Massachusetts Tax Tiff to Supreme Court

New Hampshire is taking its tax fight with Massachusetts to the U.S. Supreme Court, Gov. Chris Sununu (R) said Monday.

New Hampshire, which doesn’t tax income, has fought against its neighboring state’s income tax—which is levied against people who work for Massachusetts companies but live in other states and telecommute—as unfair and unconstitutional.

Massachusetts announced the tax in July as an emergency measure it deemed necessary to maintain its income during the Covid-19 pandemic, while many employees are telecommuting.
