New York Amends Thornwood Fire Department Law, Includes Fire Insurance Premium Tax Collection Provisions

The New York Governor signed a law concerning the Volunteer and Exempt Firemen’s Benevolent Association of Thornwood. The law includes providing for the collection of the fire insurance premium tax on foreign and alien insurers imposed by section 9104 of the insurance law on all premiums covering property within the territory immediately protected by the Thornwood fire department and companies thereof, and within any duly organized territory in which any such companies are or may be obligated to render protection.
