New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy proposed offering incentives to employers for establishing work-from-home and hybrid staffing policies in a bid to end the double taxation for residents who commute to New York City.

Murphy made the proposal on Tuesday during his annual policy address in Trenton — his first one in person since the coronavirus pandemic — without giving specifics. The second-term governor, a 65-year-old Democrat and retired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. senior director, came to office in January 2018 with promises to revive New Jersey’s economy.
