North Carolina DOR to Increase County Sales and Use Tax for Mecklenburg County

The North Carolina Department of Revenue (DOR) has announced an increase in the county sales and use tax rate for Mecklenburg County. Effective July 2026, an additional 1 percent will be added to the county rate, raising the total sales and use tax rate in the county from 7.25 percent to 8.25 percent. [N.C.
