North Dakota Governor Approves $515 Million Tax Relief Bill

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum signed tax overhaul legislation Thursday that he said would put $515 million into state taxpayers’ pockets over the next two years.

Burgum signed HB1158, which flattens and reduces the personal income tax and provides a one-time property tax credit to homeowners on their primary residences. A fiscal analysis priced the income tax component at $358 million over the 2023-2025 biennium. The property tax program has a price tag of $157 million, the governor said.
