NYC Property Tax Panel Postpones Hearing on Slate of Changes

The panel weighing changes in New York City’s widely criticized property tax system postponed its opening hearing on a broad set of preliminary reform recommendations.

The city Advisory Commission on Property Tax Reform announced the postponement Thursday, hours before the first in a series of public sessions was to have begun. The decision, coming in the midst of the city’s response to the new coronavirus outbreak, marks the latest drag on the commission’s slow progress since it was formed in May 2018.
