NYU Law Professor Named to Top Tax Job in Biden’s Treasury (2)

Lily Batchelder, a tax professor at the New York University School of Law and former Obama administration official, has been nominated for the position of assistant secretary for tax policy—Treasury’s top tax job.

Batchelder was an expected frontrunner for the job, having worked on the Biden administration’s Treasury transition team. She has also previously worked in the government, as deputy director of the White House National Economic Council during the Obama administration, and as majority chief tax counsel for the Senate Finance Committee before that.
