Oregon will become the first state to join the IRS’s expanded Direct File tool for next tax season, meaning taxpayers in the state will have the option to file their federal taxes for free directly with the IRS in 2025, according to the office of Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden (D-Ore.).
