Pan African Interchange LLC and Stanley Damas will pay $21,583 to resolve allegations that they falsely certified the organization wouldn’t receive more than one Paycheck Protection Program loan before Dec. 31, 2020, the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida announced Thursday.
Pan African Interchange LLC allegedly signed a promissory note for a second PPP loan and then unlawfully refused to return it, according to the Department of Justice.
This is the first PPP False Claims Act whistleblower case in which the United States intervened, the DOJ said.
