A top policy adviser for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Wednesday said Republicans are looking to increase a popular deduction for income from partnerships and trusts and estates in future tax legislation.
Republicans are fresh off pushing through a $3.4 trillion tax-and-spending bill that extends much of their 2017 law and creates several new tax breaks. President Donald Trump signed the measure earlier this month.
