Pharma Lobby Starts Discount Drug Site Before Trump Deadline (1)

The pharmaceutical industry’s US lobbying organization announced a new website on Monday to connect patients with companies selling discounted medicines online.

The announcement by PhRMA coincides with the deadline President Donald Trump imposed for the 17 largest pharmaceutical companies to respond to a series of demands over drug prices. Earlier this year he sent the companies letters telling them to sell medicines directly to patients, lower prices for the Medicaid insurance program for low-income and disabled people and force foreign countries to pay more for medicines.
