Philippines Court of Tax Appeals Issues Decision Clarifying Refund Claims Regarding Unutilized Creditable Withholding Taxes

The Philippine Court of Tax Appeals Oct. 24 issued a decision in CTA Case No. 10917, clarifying refund claims regarding unutilized creditable withholding taxes (CWTs). The taxpayer, a domestic corporation, sought a refund of unutilized CWTs for the fiscal year (FY) that ended March 31, 2020. The taxpayer argued that it was entitled to the refund due to being fully compliant with the specified requirements.
