Poland Suspends Plans For Digital Service Tax

Poland has delayed plans to roll out its own digital tax on global tech companies.

The draft budget for 2020 no longer includes income from such measures, Filip Majdowski, a deputy director at the Polish Finance Ministry’s tax system department, told Bloomberg Tax Sept. 6 in a telephone interview. The draft was published Aug. 26.

• Majdowski wouldn’t comment on why the draft budget’s been revised to exclude income from digital service taxation in 2020, but he said that “from a technical issue, it turned into a very, very political one in Poland.”
