Poland to Relax Some Tax Rules Under Deregulation Effort

May 7, 2025, 8:58 AM UTC

Poland wants to introduce a six-month waiting period from the time an “unfavorable” tax regulation is finalized to when it’s effective, under a proposal adopted Tuesday.

The government’s aim is to protect taxpayers from sudden changes in tax regulations outside of cases of important public interest or the need to implement EU law more quickly.

The Council of Ministers also adopted a proposal Tuesday to eliminate the obligation to publish information on implemented tax strategy for nearly 4,300 large taxpayers and introduce a clearer, more flexible system for declaring and correcting returns subject to a tax and customs audit.
