PwC Australia Partners Take Financial Hit After Tax Leak Scandal

Nine partners in leadership positions at PwC Australia when a tax leak scandal occurred “suffered significantly financially penalties” as part of their performance reviews, the firm’s CEO said.

Those partners haven’t been removed because they weren’t closely involved but they had allowed controls to weaken “so I have held them to account,” PwC Australia CEO Kevin Burrows told a Senate inquiry into the tax leak Thursday.

Their income is being reduced “very significantly,” Burrows said—in some cases by hundreds of thousands of dollars.
