GOP State Officials Urge High Court Corporate Disclosure Review

More than two dozen Republican attorneys general are asking the US Supreme Court to take up a case challenging the constitutionality of the Corporate Transparency Act.

The law requires many companies to report their beneficial owners to the Treasury Department, but the AGs say the power to regulate corporations belongs to the states. The Trump administration in 2025 moved to significantly reduce the scope of entities needing to comply with the reporting requirements.
