Republicans Float HSAs, Other Ideas to Lower Health-Care Costs

Republicans are workshopping solutions to rising health insurance premiums, including health savings accounts and a pharmacy benefit overhaul, as the debate over expiring Obamacare tax credits continues in Congress.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) said Tuesday he’s working with the three committees with health policy jurisdiction “on legislation that would actually lower costs for families and give families options so they’re not trapped in the unaffordable care act policies.” But it’s unclear which ideas will end up getting the full caucus backing.
